SKARDU, Pakistan — When Maurizio Gallo – EvK2CNR Committee Responsible for activities in Pakistan, as well as for the Concordia Rescue Team - approached and peeked inside the open door of a Pakistani 1122 ambulance parked in a street in Skardu he noted excellent medical equipment and untouched mountaineering equipment: ropes, carabiners, slings and a folded, still packaged, climbing harness. It is from that climbing harness and from that cellophane package that the collaboration project between the Pakistani 1122 Emergency Service Rescue and the Concordia Rescue Team, the Mountain Rescue Team stationed in the park of K2, was born.
